Licence Terms

These licence terms apply to digital products purchased or downloaded from Roofdog Design, including digital papers, patterns, clip art, printables, templates, textures, graphics, freebies and other downloadable creative resources.
By purchasing, downloading or using a Roofdog Design product, you agree to these terms.
Short version
You can use Roofdog Design files for personal creative projects and small commercial projects, as long as the files are used as part of your own finished design or physical product.
You cannot resell, share, give away, redistribute, upload or repackage the original files, or anything that would let someone else extract and reuse the original artwork.
Basically: make things with them, don’t sell them as them.
Personal use
You may use Roofdog Design products for personal projects, including:
- scrapbooking
- journaling
- planner pages
- cards
- invitations
- gift tags
- party decorations
- home printing
- digital layouts
- personal craft projects
- personal stationery
- personal gifts
You may print the files for your own use as many times as you like.
Small commercial use
You may use Roofdog Design products to create finished physical products for sale. The standard licence covers up to 500 finished items made using each purchased Roofdog Design product.
Examples of allowed small commercial use include:
- printed cards
- stickers
- labels
- gift tags
- packaging
- party printables
- planner inserts
- scrapbook pages
- handmade goods
- market stall products
- small batch printed items
- finished physical craft products
The Roofdog Design artwork must be incorporated into your own finished product and not supplied as a standalone design resource.
Digital end products
You may use Roofdog Design products in flattened digital end products for sale, provided the original artwork cannot be extracted, copied, edited or reused by the customer.
Allowed examples include:
- flattened printable PDFs
- finished invitation designs supplied as PDFs or JPGs
- finished planner pages supplied as PDFs
- finished social media templates where the original artwork cannot be extracted
- finished digital products where the Roofdog artwork is part of a larger flattened design
Not allowed:
- selling the original files
- selling editable files containing the original artwork
- selling layered design files containing the original artwork
- selling Canva templates, Photoshop files, Illustrator files, Procreate files or similar editable products where the original artwork can be extracted
- including Roofdog Design artwork in any digital product where the customer can reuse the artwork separately
Print-on-demand and production partners
You may use Roofdog Design products with a local printer, print shop or production partner to produce allowed finished physical products for your own small business.
You may not upload Roofdog Design files as standalone patterns, graphics or design assets to print-on-demand marketplaces or stock/design asset platforms.
You may not use Roofdog Design artwork on print-on-demand products where the artwork is the main value of the product and is uploaded as-is or only lightly modified.
This includes, but is not limited to, uploading Roofdog Design artwork to Spoonflower, Redbubble, Society6, Zazzle, Teepublic, Creative Market, Etsy digital downloads, stock image sites, fabric-on-demand platforms, wallpaper platforms, or similar marketplaces where the artwork itself is the main product or can be purchased by others.
If you want to use Roofdog Design artwork for larger-scale production, licensing beyond 500 units, print-on-demand products, or other uses not covered by this licence, please contact me first.
What you cannot do
You may not:
- resell the original files
- share the original files
- give away the original files
- redistribute the original files
- claim the artwork as your own
- upload the files to stock, clip art, pattern, template or design asset sites
- include the files in bundles or freebie packs
- use the files to create competing digital design resources
- sell editable templates where the artwork can be extracted
- turn the artwork into SVGs, embroidery files, fonts, stamps, brushes or other reusable design resources for sale
- use the artwork in logos, trademarks or brand identities where exclusive ownership is required
- use the files in any way that allows another person to download, extract or reuse the original artwork
- use Roofdog Design artwork to create fabric, wallpaper, stickers, prints, apparel, homeware or other products on marketplace platforms where the artwork is uploaded as the main design for resale
- use the files for unlawful, hateful, defamatory, pornographic or discriminatory material
Freebies
Free downloads from Roofdog Design are covered by the same licence terms unless the freebie listing says otherwise.
You may use freebies in personal projects and allowed small commercial finished products.
You may not redistribute freebies, upload them elsewhere, include them in bundles, or give them away as your own download.
Attribution
Attribution is appreciated but not required.
If you share your project online and want to credit Roofdog Design, lovely. If not, also fine. I will survive.
Copyright
All Roofdog Design products remain the copyright of Roofdog Design.
Buying or downloading a product gives you a licence to use the files under these terms. It does not transfer copyright or ownership of the artwork to you.
AI, training and data use
You may not use Roofdog Design products, artwork, images, files or downloads to train, fine-tune, test, develop or feed artificial intelligence systems, machine learning models, datasets, image generators or similar technologies.
You may not include Roofdog Design files in any dataset, scraping system, automated training process or AI asset library.
File delivery
Roofdog Design products are digital downloads. No physical product will be shipped unless a product listing clearly says otherwise.
After purchase, you should receive access to your download files through the checkout process, your order email, or your account area if you created one.
Please download and back up your files. If you lose access, contact me and I’ll help where reasonably possible.
Refunds and faulty downloads
Because digital files can’t be physically returned, refunds are generally not offered for change of mind, accidental purchases, or because you no longer need the product.
However, this does not affect your rights under New Zealand consumer law.
If a file is faulty, missing, corrupted, not as described, or you have trouble accessing your download, please contact me. I’ll do my best to fix the issue, replace the file, or offer another appropriate remedy.
Colour and printing
Colours may look different on different screens and printers. This is because screens, printers, inks and papers all enjoy disagreeing with each other.
Roofdog Design files are supplied as digital artwork. You are responsible for checking that the files suit your printer, software, project and production method before making large quantities.
Software and technical compatibility
Product listings will usually describe the file types included, such as JPG, PNG or PDF.
Please check that you have suitable software before purchasing. I cannot guarantee compatibility with every device, app, printer, cutting machine or design program.
Commercial scale and extended licensing
The standard licence covers small commercial use up to 500 finished physical units per purchased product.
For larger production runs, wholesale manufacturing, licensing for classes/workshops, or other uses not covered here, please contact me to discuss an extended licence.
Changes to these terms
Roofdog Design may update these licence terms from time to time.
The terms that apply to your purchase are the terms published at the time of purchase, unless a later version gives you more generous usage rights.
